Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Films is teaming up with Sam Mendes and DreamWorks to make
Revolutionary Road, based on the celebrated novel by Richard Yates.
Μύ
Five-time Oscar nominee Kate Winslet and three-time Oscar nominee
Leonardo di Caprio re-unite for the first time since the 1997 all-time
box office hit and Oscar-winning Titanic to play the leading roles in
this heart-rending story of thwarted passion and the search for
fulfillment.
Μύ
A young couple find themselves torn between their own
desires and the pressure to conform, with explosive consequences.
Μύ
"Having bought the rights to the book and developed it, we could not be
more delighted at the way this film has come together," said David
Thompson, Head of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Films.
Μύ
"This is an extraordinary story with wide
international appeal and resonance.
Μύ
"To be working with such outstanding
talent from both sides of the Atlantic is particularly exciting, and is
very much in line with our strategy of attracting world class talent to
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Films' projects as well as giving opportunities to new talent."
Μύ
Production will start this summer in the United States with Paramount handling
worldwide distribution.
Μύ
The film will be directed by Sam Mendes with a screenplay by Justin Haythe.
Μύ
John N Hart, Scott Rudin, Bobby Cohen and Mendes
will produce in association with Mendes' Neal Street Productions, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Films, and Evamere Films.
Μύ
The casting of Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio in Revolutionary Road
adds further star power to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Films' production slate, which already
includes Scarlett Johannson, Natalie Portman and Eric Bana in Justin
Chadwick's The Other Boleyn Girl; Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen in
David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises; Catherine Zeta-Jones and Guy Pearce
in Gillian Armstrong's Death Defying Acts; Rene Zellweger and Ewan
McGregor in Chris Noonan's Miss Potter; Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett in
Richard Eyre's Notes On A Scandal and Anne Hathaway in Julian Jarrold's
Becoming Jane. Μύ
