Two new appointments to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Studios


Peter Salmon, Chief Creative Officer, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Studios, announced today two new senior appointments to Vision Studios, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's in-house production base.

The new appointments place multi-platform content creation at the heart of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's production operation.

Mark Harrison has been appointed as Head of the Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio and Richard Williams is Creative Director, Multi-platform for the new Studio.

Mark is currently Head of the Arts Studio and Richard is currently Interactive Executive, Factual.

The Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio reports to Keith Scholey, Deputy Chief Creative Officer, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Studios.

The new Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio, one of 17 production studios in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, will bring together creative multi-platform teams from drama, entertainment, comedy and factual for the first time into one centre of excellence for multi-platform content creation.

It will be the hub for co-ordinating development and production innovation across Vision Studios, providing its expertise and creativity to projects in all genres.

Mark will be responsible for leading the new Studio and co-ordinating development, innovation and production modernisation across the entire Vision Studios group.

Richard will have responsibility for delivering multi-platform projects across all Vision Studios. Both will sit on the Vision Studios Board.

Mark Harrison


Mark Harrison is currently Head of the Arts Studio and Head of Production Innovation for Factual & Learning.

Μύ

During his time heading the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ arts department Mark has led on major multi-platform projects including The Power Of Art, A Picture Of Britain and The Big Read as well as launching successful strands such as The Culture Show and Imagine.

He also pioneered new approaches to arts programming with popular travel-based cultural series such as Around The World In 80 Treasures and Italy Top To Toe.

Recently, in his role as Head of Production Innovation, he implemented the modernisation of production processes across the factual departments, preparing the way for digital multi-platform production.

Mark returned to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ from the independent sector in 2002 to produce Great Britons, one of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's first multi-platform initiatives, and was made Creative Director, Arts later the same year.

Mark first joined the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in 1985, working in features in Bristol and current affairs in London.

Richard Williams


Richard Williams is currently Interactive Executive, Factual where he is responsible for the commissioning and production of the web, mobile and iTV elements of factual multi-platform initiatives.

Richard has led a number of recent multi-platform projects including the very popular Springwatch initiative, Climate Chaos, Planet Earth and A Picture Of Britain.

Richard joined the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ eight years ago and has worked across a wide range of areas including science, weather, nature, history, arts and religion.

He has won a number of awards, including a Webby for The Human Body, a Royal Television Society Award for Springwatch and a NMA Award for the interactive game Death In Sakkara.

Prior to joining the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Richard worked for a dot com business and in journalism and public relations.
