Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ acquires Alchemy's drama series The Company

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has acquired the epic action thriller, The Company, from Alchemy Television Group, the media company specialising in the financing, production and distribution of event television.

Μύ

Based on Robert Littell's hard-hitting novel about the CIA, The Company is set to air on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two later next year.

Μύ

Written by Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), the series is being directed by Mikael Salomon (Rome, Band of Brothers) and produced by director Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions with Sony for TNT.

Μύ

The six x 60-minute series stars Hollywood actor Chris O'Donnell as Jack McAuliffe, the fictional hero caught in the dark underside of the American Intelligence community.

Μύ

The story, which spans a 30-year period from the Cold War to the first Gulf War, includes both genuine events and characters.

Μύ

The Company's stellar cast also includes Alfred Molina, Michael Keaton, Alessandro Nivola, Natasha McElhone and Tom Hollander.

Μύ

George McGhee, Controller of Programme Acquisitions, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Television, said: "I am delighted that we will be showing this slick mini-series on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two.

Μύ

"It has a wonderful cast, great production talent and is a perfect complement to our own Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ dramas. It promises to be a nail-biting watch."

Μύ

Alchemy's Nick Witkowski said: "We are thrilled that The Company, which should prove to be the event mini-series of 2007, will be shown on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ which will guarantee it will get the audience and attention it deserves. We are also delighted to be in business with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and hope to deliver more event titles in the future."
