John Barrowman, Emma Thompson and the Mighty Boosh chat to Jonathan Ross

This week on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Jonathan welcomes to the show Torchwood's John Barrowman, veteran of countless West End musicals and now starring as TV's latest sci-fi hero, Captain Jack.

Μύ

He talks about playing an "omnisexual" and is open about being gay himself: "I'm gay. I still love women - they're extremely sexy. Who's to say I'll never have sex with a woman.

Μύ

"I believe you're born that way [gay] - it's not something you choose... Why would you choose to be in a minority that's looked down on by some parts of society?"

Μύ

He also talks about his pending marriage to long-term partner Scott: "We're looking at dates towards Christmas and we'll do it in Cardiff. a small family dinner."

Μύ

He also talks about Doctor Who, memories from childhood and growing up in Glasgow before he moved to America.

Μύ

"I know about being afraid of the Daleks," he says.

Μύ

And he tells how, as a child, he saw an episode of Doctor Who in which the shop dummies came alive and was then afraid to go past shop windows without hiding under his mother's coat.

Μύ

"I collect action figures. I have my own now - that's the only reason I wanted to do Doctor Who!"

Μύ

He talks about his experience of Torchwood: "For some reason, the British public took to him [Jack]. We just finished filming on Saturday.

Μύ

"In Torchwood, everyone has a secret (but) I've signed a secrecy clause... why would I want to spoil it for anyone?"

Μύ

On filming in Cardiff, he says: "On Friday nights there are lots of scary monsters, blonde tight-tops who fight the seagulls trying to eat their chips. It's a great night out, watching the boob-tops!"

Μύ

"I've had to learn how to walk in high heels. I have to shave my legs otherwise I'd look like a chimp .. and (now) I confess to loving a Brazilian!"

Μύ
