Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1 added 689,000 listeners in the last quarter - boosted by a record performance from Chris Moyles - according to figures released today by Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd).

The figures - covering the period 27 March to 25 June 2006 - show the network's reach up to 10.42 million (from 9.73m last quarter and 10.24m last year) and a record audience for The Chris Moyles Show, with 6.79 million listeners tuning in - up 472,000 on the quarter and 534,000 on the year.

Radio 1's share of listening is 10.3% - the highest in more than six years and an increase of 1.2% on the quarter (9.1%) and 1.1% on the year (9.2%).

Terry Wogan achieved his second highest reach of 8.08 million (up over 300,000 on the quarter) but Ken Bruce was Radio 2's record breaker, adding 245,000 listeners in the quarter to bring his audience to a new high of 6.64 million.
