The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ announced today a shortlist of bidders selected to the next stage in
the re-procurement of outsourced finance and accounting services.
Μύ
The four companies that have been selected for Invitation to Contract, the third
stage of the bidding process are, in alphabetical order:
Μύ
Capita
Μύ
EDS
Μύ
Progeon (Infosys)
Μύ
Xansa
Μύ
The bids received from the long-listed bidders were of high quality and bidders
were selected through a rigorous EU procurement process conducted by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's
evaluation team.
Μύ
This included significant input from business stakeholders in
the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.
Μύ
The four finalists were chosen because of their close fit with the
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's evaluation criteria, which include value for money, synergy with the
culture of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, and capability to provide high-quality service to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.
Μύ
Zarin Patel, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Group Finance Director, said: "We have been impressed by the
quality of the bids and high level of competition, and all four bidders deserve
to have reached the shortlist stage.
Μύ
"We look forward to working with them more
closely over the next few months and we expect to announce the winning bidder in
the autumn."
Μύ
The finance and accounting services being re-procured were originally outsourced
in 1997 to Medas as part of a ten-year contract which runs until the end of June 2007.
Μύ
Medas is a wholly owned subsidiary of EDS.
Μύ
Services currently provided by Medas
include payments to external suppliers and artists and contributors, staff
payroll and expenses processes.
Μύ
The purpose of this project is:
Μύ
to re-procure finance and accounting Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
services for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ with an effective transition between the current and new
contract;
Μύ
to deliver a new BPO contract which will deliver value for money through
significant initial and ongoing savings, through a contract relationship that is
flexible and transparent and that provides incentives to both the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and its
supplier to collaborate, innovate and improve benefits throughout the contract.
Μύ
The contract length is for five to ten years.
Μύ
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is looking for provider/s that can transform the systems area, including
the development of further e-business capabilities to help in delivering a "simpler Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ".
Μύ
Final negotiations are expected to take place throughout the summer, with an
announcement of the successful bidder in Autumn 2006.
Μύ
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ staff and the unions are being kept fully informed during the process.
Μύ
No Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ staff are currently in scope to be outsourced as part of this contract as
the contract is a second generation outsourcing.
