Bridget Boseley has been appointed the new Studio Head for Factual and Features, completing the leadership team for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Factual and Learning's nine genre-based multimedia studios.

Μύ

Bridget was ITV Controller of Factual programmes from June 2003 until January 2006, where she was responsible for commissioning over 100 hours of peak time factual programming a year. She takes up her new role at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in August.

Μύ

The Features and Formats Studio based in London, produces a range of programmes including established hits like Top Gear, What Not To Wear, Holiday, Watchdog, Rogue Traders and Crimewatch UK and new shows like Perfection With Heston Blumenthal for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO and Old Dogs New Tricks, featuring Esther Rantzen and Lyn Faulds Wood, for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE.

Μύ

John Willis, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Director of Factual and Learning, said: "Bridget has a great track record in intelligent popular factual programming. She will be a great addition to an already successful team.

Μύ

"It says a lot for the range and quality of our output that we have attracted someone of Bridget's calibre to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ."

Μύ

Bridget Boseley said: "I'm delighted to be returning to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and am really looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that a move back into production presents.

Μύ

"The department produces some of the most well known factual titles and my aim is to expand on this success with a range of new output across all Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ channels."

Μύ

While at ITV, Bridget successfully moved ITV's factual output into new territories with popular factual formatted programmes like Holiday Showdown (RTS winner), Bad Lads Army and Ladette to Lady.

Μύ

She commissioned a range of factual programming from The Gunpowder Plot and Titanic - Birth of a Legend to Murder Squad and Britain's Youngest Mums and Dads.

Μύ

Prior to joining ITV, Bridget was Controller of Features for Granada Media and, under her leadership, the newly created department built up a Β£10m business from scratch by becoming a key supplier of popular factual programmes to all channels.

Μύ

Well known brands included 100 Greatest for Channel 4 and After They Were Famous for ITV1.

Μύ

Before joining Granada, Bridget was at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ for ten years where she started as a researcher in the Youth department, working on shows like Rough Guide.

Μύ

She later became Series Producer of the Rough Guides then Editor of Entertainment and Features, Manchester. She was responsible for executive producing many of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO's theme nights and youth output.

Μύ

The nine genre based studios were set up by John Willis, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Director of Factual & Learning, in April 2006 to create a simplified and more integrated structure for the division as the world's first cross-platform content creator. The studio heads report to the Controller of Factual Production, Keith Scholey.

Μύ

The other studio heads are:

  • John Lynch (Science and History)
  • Sarah Hargreaves (Documentaries and Specialist Features)
  • Mark Harrison (Arts)
  • Nick Vaughan-Barratt (Events)
  • Neil Nightingale (Head of the Natural History Unit, based in Bristol)
  • Tom Archer (Features and Documentaries, Bristol)
  • Tessa Finch (Features and Documentaries, Birmingham)
  • Alan Bookbinder (Religion, based in Manchester)

Μύ

Alan Bookbinder is due to leave the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ at the end of July and a replacement is being sought.

Μύ

It was also recently announced that Rachel Innes-Lumsden is to become the new Head of Development for the division. She was previously an Executive Producer in Factual and Learning.
