Μύ

The prestigious industry awards were presented at the glittering ceremony held at London's Grosvenor House last night (Tuesday 14 March 2006).

Μύ

The title of best Nations and Regions Programme was awarded to From Belfast to Dachau, a documentary which told the story of Teddy Dixon's return to the former concentration camp at Dachau.

Μύ

Programme director Dermot Lavery of Doubleband Films said: "We are absolutely delighted to have won this award and also on the same night as Stephen Nolan picked up his award.

Μύ

"We are very grateful to Teddy Dixon for bringing us on his journey. This award is an acknowledgment and a tipping of the cap to that amazing journey."

Μύ

The RTS judging panel said of From Belfast to Dacha: "A phenomenal central character led this powerful, thought-provoking and unsentimental film. Its use of archive was exemplary."

Μύ

Stephen Nolan scooped the top presenting award for his television show Nolan Live.

Μύ

Stephen said: "It's my second year with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland and to be recognised for what I've been doing is fantastic but the programme is really all about the viewers and people who contribute to it, my thanks go to them because we couldn't do it without them."

Μύ

The judging panel said about Stephen Nolan: "The highly-watchable winning presenter had sustained his fine form."

Μύ

Controller Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland Anna Carragher said: "This is great news. These awards are a tribute to the wealth of talent here in Northern Ireland.

Μύ

"From Belfast to Dachau is a powerful documentary, and Stephen Nolan's good humour and tenacity have rightly earned this recognition from the broadcast industry."
