Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, and Kaiser Chiefs are set to take over the digital airwaves when The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music Selector returns on Monday 12 December 2005.

The chart-topping artists follow in the footsteps of Selector's previous incumbents, Radiohead and The Manic Street Preachers, who were given the freedom to programme Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music for a week in 2003 and 2004 respectively.

This year's hosts will each enjoy one day's reign, during which they can champion a favourite artist, album of the day and select classic live performances from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's unrivalled music archive.

Foo Fighters kick off the proceedings on Monday and will embrace the challenge with typical gusto: "We're really excited to be taking over the station for a day and can't wait to get our hands on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archive."

Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand have both enjoyed massive success this year, with the former receiving a Mercury Music nomination for Employment and the latter's second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, garnering rave reviews.
