The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ published two notices today in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) to procure new suppliers for construction projects across its UK property portfolio.

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is looking for suppliers to provide leadership, design, management, commercial control and delivery of a wide range of small to medium sized construction projects.

This procurement process follows the restructuring of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ/Land Securities Trillium (LST) partnership, announced on 12 May 2005, under which the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and LST will focus on their joint property developments and LST will no longer provide construction management or facilities management (FM) services to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

Framework contracts for design and management services are likely to be awarded in the following areas:

Project management and planning supervision services (PM/PS)
Μύ
Design services to include architecture, space planning and interior design

Structural and services engineering
Μύ
Quantity surveying/cost management services (QS)

Contracts for services may be combined if potential suppliers can demonstrate sufficient resource, technical and/or geographic capability in more than one service area.

Additionally, framework contracts for project delivery are likely to be awarded for:

General building works

Mechanical and electrical engineering services works

These contracts may be combined into multi-skilled framework contracts if suppliers can demonstrate sufficient resource, technical and/or geographic capability in each service area.

The contracts are for four years, with a view to starting in April 2006.

The construction management projects cover the whole of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's UK estate, which comprises approximately 7.5m sq ft of space in over 140 properties.

Seventy-five per cent of space is in London, with the remainder spread across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
