How I Met Your Mother is an ensemble comedy from the point of view of a man looking back on his single life from 20 years in the future, as told to his two teenage children.
Μύ
Ted (Josh Radnor) has a good life. He's a successful young architect living in New York City.
Μύ
Ted's world is turned upside down when his best friends Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) announce their engagement - a scenario Ted had rehearsed with Marshall a million times before but never thought would actually happen.
Μύ
Ted realises it may be time for him to give up the single life and settle down - much to the chagrin of his bar-hopping "wing-man" Barney (Neil Patrick Harris).
Μύ
So begins Ted's search for a wife, a search that leads him to Robin (Cobie Smulders), a beautiful TV reporter.
