New look for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ NI GAA coverage

There will be a new look to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland's Championship programme this year.

Μύ

The Ulster Senior Football Championship will be shown on a Sunday evening highlights programme on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO NI.

Μύ

The Ulster Final will be shown live on 17 July.

Μύ

Jerome Quinn will present the programme at 10.00pm with established analysts Jarlath Burns and Martin McHugh.

Μύ

They will open with the Preliminary Round game between newly-crowned National League champions Armagh and Fermanagh on Sunday 15 May.

Μύ

A new development means that, for the first time, the highlights series will now be available on the digital platform (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO Digital NI) as part of a three-year deal.

Μύ

Ed Smith, Editor, Sport, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ NI, said: "Although we are obviously disappointed to lose out on live games, as our regular viewers will be, we are pleased to finally have a foothold on the digital platform which will make us more accessible to a wider audience and open up greater options behind the 'red button' technology."

Μύ

From July through to the All-Ireland final in September during the All-Ireland series the action switches from Sunday evenings to a new series of magazine-style programmes on Wednesday evenings on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO NI.

Μύ

"We always try to package our Championship highlights in an imaginative and informative way and the midweek magazine show at the All Ireland stages will give us the opportunity to do just that with opinion and analysis, as well as the stories behind the big games," continued Ed.

Μύ

There will be a focus on Gaelic games in Ulster, from women's football to club matches, hurling and camogie, and the coverage will be linked closely to a Championship website and to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Ulster's revamped Sunday Sportsound.

Μύ

A new three-year radio deal has been secured which will see all games involving Ulster teams from May to September on Radio Ulster.

Μύ

The programme will be presented in the studio by Jim McLean and at the ground by Austin O'Callaghan and will be available on 1341 MW.
