Six-year-old Ewan Broughton from Haywards Heath has won the Under-16 category in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ South East photography competition.

Μύ

Over 800 people entered the competition, Out of Hours - capturing the people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex enjoying their free time - which launched on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ South East Today, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Kent and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Southern Counties Radio on March 18.

Μύ

Judging the competition was Britain's first female sports photographer, Hy Money; Peter Lindsey, Group Editor of the Herald Group; and Martin Saggers, fast bowler for KCCC and England.

Μύ

Ewan said: "Before Mummy went blind, she loved taking photos. Now I love taking pictures for her, as she can't any more."

Μύ

The judges agreed that Ewan's picture showed a real moment of genuine happiness and fun.

Μύ

As well as the prestigious title of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ South East Photographer of the Year, Ewan has also won the chance to spend a day with sports photographer Hy Money.

Μύ

Ewan's photo, together with the entries of all the nine adult finalists, will form part of an exhibition which will travel around the southeast over the next few months.

Μύ

"My mummy is so proud - I want to be a photographer when I grow up." says Ewan.
