Zeinab Badawi is the new presenter of The World on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ FOUR, the UK's first daily news bulletin devoted principally to international news.
Μύ
Zeinab said: "I am delighted to be joining the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ FOUR team.
Μύ
"I have always greatly admired The World and I hope I will be able to help build further on the strengths and successes that the programme has already enjoyed."
Μύ
Janice Hadlow, Controller of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ FOUR, added: "Zeinab brings great experience and personality to The World and I am delighted to welcome her to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ FOUR."
Μύ
The World is broadcast daily from Monday to Friday at 8.00pm.
Μύ
The half-hour programme draws on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's newsgathering operation - the largest in the world with more bureaux and specialist correspondents than any other broadcaster.
Μύ
Zeinab has been in broadcasting for nearly two decades.
Μύ
She co-presented Channel 4 News with Jon Snow for nearly ten years (1989 to 1998).
Μύ
She joined the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and worked at Westminster on live political programmes for five years.
Μύ
Zeinab is as much at home presenting in the studio as she is reporting live from the party conferences.
Μύ
She has also worked in radio - regularly presenting the World Tonight on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World Service's Newshour.
Μύ
Zeinab is an Oxford graduate in politics and economics with a post-graduate degree on the Middle East from London University (awarded with a distinction).
