The Politics Bus Grand Tour

Have Dave to stay - The Politics Bus Grand Tour

The General Election will see politicians all over the country stepping up their campaigns in a quest to win a sought after seat in Westminster.

Dave Harvey, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Points West's Political Editor, is also busy packing his camper van and preparing for a month on the road.

From now until 5 May, Dave will be travelling the west of England in his trusted purple Politics Bus.

By spending time in the places with marginal seats, he aims to find out what the voters really want and what the towns and surrounding areas really need.

Dave will be camping out in the constituency in a bid to get to know the communities and the issues that affect them - living and breathing the atmosphere in the run-up to Election Day.

Dave Harvey says: "If you see the bus, stop it and tell us what's really going on. We're hoping people will show us the parts the politicians never see.

"People have pride in the West Country - but also a long list of jobs for whoever wins on 5 May.

"Practically speaking, I need somewhere to park up my camper van en route so let me know what's going on in your area and I can make sure I'm there.

"Have Dave to stay and have your say!"

During his grand tour Dave will be visiting Taunton, Bristol West, Swindon South and Stroud constituencies.

Every Thursday he'll track down local candidates for a discussion and the public are invited to come along and put their questions to the panel.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Bristol presenter, Keith Warmington, and his band are backing the venture by recording a special version of a classic Cliff Richard song - We're All Going On A Voters' Holiday will be the official theme of the tour.

The camper van is nearly as old as the original song!

Dave's adventure and the characters he meets en route can be seen on Points West (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE West, Monday to Friday, 6.30pm) and The Politics Show (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE West, Sunday, noon).
