Olivia Newton John and Tommy Steele put surprise finishing touch to Royal Variety Performance

Forty seven years after his first appearance at the Royal Variety Performance, entertainment legend Tommy Steele returns to the stage to shake, rattle and roll once more with a rock 'n' roll medley including At The Hop, Johnny B Goode, Rock Around The Clock, Whole Lotta Shakin' and Hand Jive.


The Royal Variety Performance takes place at the London Coliseum tonight (Tuesday 14 December) and is attended by His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.


The show will be screened on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE on Wednesday 15 December at 8.00pm.


Olivia Newton John makes a surprise appearance to perform an exclusive duet of the Johnny Mathis hit Twelfth Of Never with Sir Cliff Richard.


Sir Cliff will also be performing I Cannot Give You My Love from his new album.


Liza Minnelli will be performing for the very first time at this prestigious event, singing But The World Goes Round and the classic New York New York.


From the world of pop, Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem give the first TV performance of their new duet Almost Here, Gwen Stefani sings her new solo single What You Waiting For?, pop quintet Girls Aloud do a special performance of their hit song The Show and Jamelia sings Superstar.


The stars of the new West End hit The Producers take to the stage for their first ever UK TV performance.


Nathan Lane, Lee Evans and the cast of the show perform a musical medley including King Of Broadway, I Wanna Be A Producer and Along Came Baily.


Sir Elton John will perform Turn The Lights Out When You Leave from his new album, and will give an exclusive performance of Electricity from his brand new stage musical of the hit film Billy Elliott, accompanied by three of the stars from the upcoming show.


Fresh from their success on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE's Strictly Come Dancing, Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett will do the hot shoe shuffle to the Coliseum and remind the audience just why they waltzed off with the coveted title on Saturday night.


Canadian crooner Michael Buble and smooth soul man Lemar get together to perform a one-off special medley of Fever, Can't Take My Eyes Off You and Come Fly With Me.


Denise Van Outen sings her own version of the Kirsty MacColl classic In These Shoes and international singing sensation Josh Groban performs Oceano.


Also appearing on stage tonight are Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sport Personality of the Year 2004 and double Olympic Gold Medal winner Kelly Holmes, rock royalty Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Barbara Windsor, Natasha Kaplinsky, Graham Norton and Eamonn Holmes.


The show also includes acts from Jimmy Carr, David O'Mer and Yamil Borges, Ennio Marchetto, comedians Will Smith and Dara O'Briain and Blackpool theatrical institution the Funny Girls, as well as performances from the casts of The Pirates of Penzance and Round The Horne... Revisited.


The Royal Variety Performance is a charity event in aid of the Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund.

Ozzy Osbourne will now not be taking part in tonight's Royal Variety Performance due to a recurring back problem related to his quad bike accident which happened a year ago.


However, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne will appear on stage to send his heartfelt apologies to the audience.


Statement from Sony/BMG: "Ozzy Osbourne has reluctantly cancelled his appearance at tonight's performance due to a recurring problem with a plate inserted into his shoulder after his quad bike accident exactly one year ago.


"Adjustments need to be made to the plate which is making Ozzy very uncomfortable at present.


"Although having made a remarkable recovery from the life-threatening accident, Ozzy needs the procedure as soon as possible."
