Jeremy
Vine will host a new book programme for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime in spring
2005 called Page Turners.
Μύ
In each programme a celebrity advocate or author will introduce
and champion each featured book to Jeremy, as well as to the studio
audience and the viewers at home.
Μύ
The studio audience will include some of Britain's
15,000 reading groups, who will be invited to join in the discussion
on that day's books.
Μύ
Launching Page Turners, Controller of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime Alison
Sharman said: "We are very excited to be adding the new territory
of books to our award winning line-up and thrilled that Jeremy Vine
is on board.
Μύ
"Page Turners will celebrate reading and recommend
the hottest books off the press to our viewers."
Μύ
A Page Turners panel is being appointed to select the
books featured, working to strict criteria which are:
The book must be a page turner in the truest sense Β– a compelling
read that you are unable to put down;
It is important that it is accessible for the audience and has
broad appeal;
The book must be a springboard for debate - a real 'talk about'
book;
Books need to be distinctive and surprising, to introduce the audience
to titles they may never have considered, which will really excite them.
Μύ
No genre of book will be excluded Β– children's
books will be considered if they have adult appeal.
Μύ
Page Turners is being made for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE Daytime by Princess
Productions.
