US presidential election coverage from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will offer comprehensive coverage of the 44th US presidential election, with a range of programmes and services across television, radio and online.


David Dimbleby will present US Election 2004 on the day of voting (Tuesday 2 November and Wednesday 3 November, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE/Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News 24) from Washington DC.


He'll be joined by guests Simon Schama, Robin Cook and Gore Vidal.


Veteran election watcher Peter Snow will offer analysis of the race for the White House, with the aid of three-dimensional technology.

Some of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's specialist correspondents will follow the day's proceedings across the country, including World Affairs Editor John Simpson at the Bush Headquarters in Virginia and Diplomatic Correspondent Bridget Kendall with the Kerry entourage in Boston.


Live coverage of the results will also be available on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live from midnight on Tuesday 2 November and simulcast on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 from 1.00 until 5.30am on Wednesday 3 November.


The programme will be presented by Julian Worricker, Rhod Sharp and James Naughtie, and reporters will also hear from voters across the United States.


Both Radio 4's Today programme and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO's Newsnight will broadcast from the American capital on the day of polling, and bbc.co.uk/news will include extensive reporting in the run-up to the day of voting, together with correspondent analysis and user interactivity.


The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Ten O'Clock News will provide viewers with added depth and context to the contest with the launch of the world's first interactive television news bulletin - Ten O'Clock News Extra will offer greater detail to the processes, policy and personalities involved.


On Thursday 28 October Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE's Question Time will come from Miami, in the key state of Florida.


Guests will include writer Michael Moore; George W Bush's former speech writer, David Frum; former advisor to President Clinton, Sidney Blumenthal; and journalist, Richard Littlejohn.


Other programmes include Panorama: The Chosen One (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE, Sunday 31 October), a candid portrait of the multi-million dollar campaign trail, and Pizza, Popcorn And The President (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE, Friday 29 October), Rageh Omaar's view of the election fight from grassroots America.
