Barnie Choudhury,
the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Social Affairs Correspondent, has won the Media Personality
of the Year award at the sixth GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards.
Μύ
The awards - instituted by the Asian Media and Marketing

Britain's many ethnic minorities, in both the public and private sectors,
who have achieved outstanding success in their particular field.
Μύ
Barnie was chosen for his long record of achievement
in breaking racially sensitive stories, in particular, his exclusive
on the rise in Asian Crime for File On 4 (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4).
Μύ
He received his award from Stephen Twigg, the Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State for Schools, at a star-studded ceremony at
the Grosvenor House Hotel last night.
Μύ
Barnie said: "I'm absolutely delighted. This means
a lot to me and to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ because diversity is at the heart of the
corporation. I hope that one day this will help me towards my dream
