Nottinghamshire music-makers are getting together to celebrate what would have been the 70th birthday of Elvis Presley - the king of rock and roll.

The unique charity concert - the first of its kind according to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Nottingham staff who are putting the show together - will tell Elvis's story through his songs.

Leading performers and musicians from around the East Midlands will recreate his hits from
Heartbreak Hotel to the big rock anthems like American Trilogy in their own personal styles, in a multi media production.

Among those lined-up to take part are country star Sarah Jory as well as Rockola, Revival, The Malcolm Lees Ladies Choir, Sara Knight, Hicksville Bombers, Mick Smith, Kick 'n' Rush, Carlton Male Voice Choir and The Toothill Big Band.

Two well-known mystery guests from the show-business world will also be taking part.

Director Vince Eager, who starred in the award winning West End musical Elvis, will also be performing in the show.

The Fifties pop star is co-producing the event for Radio Nottingham with the station's Michaela Atkins.

Vince says: "We would love to reveal the full line-up but we have been sworn to secrecy."

Μύ
