The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has
appointed Valerie Nazareth, currently a senior lawyer in the
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Programme Legal Advice department, as Head of Programme Legal
Advice.

She will succeed Glenn Del Medico, when he retires
in August.
Μύ
Valerie Nazareth was born in Kenya in 1963. She was
educated at Island School in Hong Kong before coming to England to read
law at University College London.
Μύ
She qualified as a solicitor in 1987 with Goodman Derrick,
where she worked in the litigation department for a further three years.
Μύ
In 1990 she joined the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Solicitor's Department, dealing
with litigation and programme clearance.

She has worked in Programme Legal Advice Department
since its inception in 1991, although during this time she has spent
periods on attachment in the Litigation Department and in Editorial
Policy.

Announcing the appointment, Nicholas Eldred, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ General
Counsel, said: "Valerie has substantial experience in this area
and also in the wider work of programme-making within the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

and journalists across the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and I believe she will make a substantial
contribution in this new role.
