Radio 1 (back) On The Road

Radio 1 On The Road returns for another year of live music and events beginning in Plymouth on 14 and 15 February.

The tour kicks off with Scott Mills and The Sunday Surgery presenting their shows live from the University of Plymouth across the weekend.

Radio 1 On The Road gives the station an opportunity to visit parts of the country that it doesn't normally get a chance to visit.

A weekend of live music, guests and events, the two days are designed for listeners to come and be entertained whilst getting free and impartial career and lifestyle advice from Radio 1's One Life and One Music teams.

On Saturday 14 February Scott Mills will be joined on his show by some very special guests including local band Buffseeds who will perform live.

On Sunday 15 February Emma B and Dr Mark Hamilton present The Sunday Surgery. As ever the duo will be helping callers with all aspects of their personal lives.

The show will also include hypnotist Paul McKenna offering uplifting and motivational advice.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE's Fame Academy winner Alex Parks will perform an acoustic track from her debut album Introduction.

Ian Parkinson, Head of Specialist, Live Music and Speech, Radio 1, said: "Radio 1 On The Road worked really well last year and we are looking to build on that success in 2004.

"The tour is pretty low key as Radio 1 events go but it is a great chance for us to talk one to one with our listeners about all areas of their lives.

"The tour gives them all information that they want about so many things. From how to get a job in the music industry to the best way to get and stay fit there is a huge amount of advice on offer.

"The feedback we get shows that people really like what we are doing and that is the best thing about it."
