Scotland
1974. Scotland's World Cup football squad have dreams of sporting
glory in their sight, under the reign of Billy Bremner.
After
being All Over Brazil in their first match, all the national team
has to do is beat Yugoslavia to make it through to the all-important
knock-out rounds.
But not everyone
is obsessed with the beautiful game. In suburban Glasgow, 13-year-old
Stephen is keener on seeing his favourite glam rock band in concert
than following the progress of Scotland's World Cup football
squad.
However,
Stephen's football fanatic father, Charley, isn't about to let "nancy
boy music" turn his son's head away from sporting glory.
Soon
Stephen's hopes of following his glam rock idols appear to be dashed
after his father catches him in his sister Donna's gold platform
boots and full glam make-up.
Meanwhile
Charley struggles to come to terms with the loss of his wife and
doesn't take kindly to Stephen's attempts at emotional blackmail.
Desperate
to go to a local glam rock gig performed by his idols Slade, Stephen
decides to pull on his platform shoes, get glammed up and go to
the gig against his father's wishes.
Stephen
is played by Iain de Caestecker, Charley by Frank Gallagher and
Donna by Gemma Morrison.

Cast biographies
Iain
de Caestecker plays Stephen
Fifteen-year-old
Iain is already a well known face of film and television. To Coronation
Street fans, he's best known as Adam Barlow, the grandson of ruthless
factory owner Mike Baldwin, a role he has played for the last three
years.
Other
TV credits include Monarch Of The Glen and Iain has also appeared
on the big screen in the Hollywood family film, The Little Vampire,
starring alongside Richard E Grant.
As
well as taking the lead in All Over Brazil, Iain can soon be seen
in forthcoming release Sixteen Years Of Alcohol, a filmmaking debut
for former Skids musician Richard Jobson.
The
All Over Brazil experience is one which Iain relished not least
because it gave him the chance to transform himself into a glam
rocker in the style of Marc Bolan and David Bowie.
Although
he's uncertain how his school friends will react to his radical
transformation, Iain admits that he fell in love with the Slade
soundtrack featured in All Over Brazil.
Frank
Gallagher plays Charley
Frank's
past acting credits include the role of Tanga in Peter Mullan's
acclaimed drama Orphans.
Frank
has many television and theatre credits to his name, including Taggart,
A Young Person's Guide To Becoming a Rock Star and a memorable appearance
in Channel 4's cult comedy drama, The Book Group.
Most
recently, Frank starred in David Andrew Ward's short film The Fall
Of Shug McCracken, a Posh Pictures production.
Frank
has played the role of the tough guy so often that he's lost count
so he was delighted to be offered the opportunity to play concerned
father Charley in All Over Brazil.
Widower
Charley never quite knows what to make of his teenage children and
finds son Stephen's obsession with glam rock very disconcerting.
Gemma
Morrison plays Donna
All
Over Brazil marks Gemma's screen acting debut. The 17-year-old from
Glasgow was bitten by the acting bug from an early age and has been
a member of East Glasgow's Youth Theatre group for three years with
varied performances including leading roles on stage at the acclaimed
Tron Theatre, Glasgow.
When
it came to filming All Over Brazil, it was a case of watching with
mother as Gemma's real-life mum Jacqueline makes a cameo appearance
in the short film, appearing in a photograph as Donna and Stephen's
late mother.

Jamie
Havlin - Writer
All
Over Brazil is Jamie's first short screenplay having come fresh
from a background in theatre and literary magazines writing.
To
date, Jamie has had his work performed at the Traverse and Netherbow
theatres in Edinburgh, at The Dukes Playhouse in Lancaster and Contact
Theatre in Manchester.
He
has had numerous short stories published in magazines and anthologies.
However,
creating All Over Brazil for the big screen fulfils a lifetime ambition.
David
Andrew Ward – Director
David
has directed and edited documentaries, music videos and commercials
in Europe, Asia, the USA and the Middle East.
His
most recent commercials with leading US production company Raygun
Films saw him win two regional Emmy Awards while short film, Sixty
Cups Of Coffee, was the runner up in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ New Filmmakers Awards
2002.
David's
short film won a bronze award for the Best Short Film at the Worldfest
International Film Festival, Houston, and was a finalist in the
USA Film Festival Awards and The Rushes Soho Shorts Festival in
London.
David
recently completed work on another short film for Posh Pictures
and Raygun Films, The Fall Of Shug McCracken, which was made with
the co-operation of Scottish Screen and recently won Best Comedy
Short in the 2003 Santa Monica Film Festival.
Garfield
Kennedy – Producer
Garfield
has produced and directed a wide range of factual films and series
including documentaries focusing on Richard Branson's numerous attempts
to fly a balloon around the world.
Many
of these internationally financed films have won Garfield critical
acclaim including the Grand Prix award at the Jules Verne Adventure
Film Festival in France.
Along
with All Over Brazil director David Andrew Ward, Garfield recently
completed work on short film, The Fall Of Shug McCracken, which
was a partnership between Posh Pictures and Raygun Films, funded
by Scottish Screen.
He
has since completed production on short film Bye-Child, written
and directed by Bernard MacLaverty, which was shot in Ireland earlier
this year.
