Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
WM listeners help make dreams come true
A ten
year old girl's wish to play her violin at the Birmingham Conservatoire
was granted with the aid of Ed Doolan and listeners to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ WM.
The
fees for the placement were too high for the family to manage, but
Ed and his loyal listeners pitched in to help.
Talented
violinist Kimberly Blackwood from Sandwell was spotted whilst playing
in a local orchestra by a teacher from the Conservatoire.
She
was then offered a place at the school, but with fees standing at
Β£1800, her family could not afford for her to go.
Kimberly's
mum, Rose, decided to ask Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ WM's Ed Doolan for some help and he
invited them onto his programme last Friday (27 June).
Once
on the show, Kimberly gave a rendition and the donations started
to pour in. By the end of the show the full Β£1800 needed to
send Kimberley to the Conservatoire had been raised.
Ed
says: "Thanks to the generosity of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ WM listeners, we've
been able to make a young girl's dreams come true. A talented young
lady, she is getting the opportunity to develop her talent even
further."
Rose
Blackwood adds: "I was overwhelmed by the response of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
WM listeners. I was filled with joy and emotion and started crying
while talking to them."
The
Ed Doolan Show broadcasts on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ WM every weekday between 10.00am
and 1.00pm.
