Radio Leicester goes to the races
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Radio Leicester is getting ready "for the off" at a special
charity race-night at Oadby Racecourse.
On
Wednesday 30 July, sports presenters John Sinclair and Jon Barber
will broadcast live
from the event between 6.00 and 7.00pm, and there'll even be a race
named after the station!
The
evening is being staged to raise money for the Rainbows Children's
Hospice in Loughborough, and race organisers are donating Β£3
to the charity for every ticket purchased by a Radio Leicester listener.
Tickets
costing Β£11 and Β£15 can be ordered by collecting an
application form from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester's reception.
The
European Breeding Fund Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester Maiden Stakes has prize
money totalling Β£8,000 and will be run over five furlongs.
Former
Grand National jockey, and Radio Leicester's racing correspondent,
Patrick O'Connor, is also going to be there - reporting on all the
action at the course.
Liam
McCarthy, Editor, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester, says: "This event is
going to be a lot of fun, and at the same time we look forward to
raising lots of money for the Rainbows Children's Hospice.
"We've
supported Rainbows since it began, and we know it's a charity close
to our listeners' hearts."
Coverage
of the race-night can be heard on 104.9FM.
