Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Productions' Dancing with the Stars Receives Nine Primetime EmmyΒ® Awards Nominations

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Productions' Dancing with the Stars, received nine 62nd Primetime Emmy Award nominations - the most of any non-fiction program, it was announced today by the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. This is the fifth consecutive year that the show has received a nomination for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.

Additionally, Dancing with the Stars' host and veteran television personality, Tom Bergeron, was nominated in the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program category for the third year in a row.

Dancing with the Stars was also nominated in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Choreography – Derek Hough - Futuristic Paso Doble
  • Outstanding Choreography – Derek Hough and Chelsie Hightower - Paso Doble/Malaquena
  • Outstanding Hairstyling For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special
  • Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic)
  • Outstanding Lighting Direction (Electronic, Multi-Camera) For Variety, Music Or Comedy Programming
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Or Music Series Or Special
  • Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series

Including the honors for Dancing with the Stars, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ was credited in 30 Emmy nominations overall.

The following Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ co-productions were also nominated:

  • Life – A Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ/Discovery Channel/SKAI co-production in association with RTI Spa – received six nominations, including Outstanding Nonfiction Series.
  • Return to Cranford – A Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ/WGBH co-production in association with Chestermead – received seven nominations, including Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Dame Judi Dench's portrayal of Miss Matty.
  • Emma – A co-production of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Productions and WGBH Boston – received four nominations, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Miniseries Or A Movie for Michael Gambon's portrayal of Mr. Woodhouse.
  • The following productions each received a single nomination: Capturing Mary – A talkbackTHAMES Production in association with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and HBO Films; Hamlet – A Production of Illuminations and Royal Shakespeare Company for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in association with Thirteen for WNET.org and NHK; Johnny Mercer – Rhapsody Productions in association with TCM, Arena/Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Warner Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Video; Sergio – Silverbridge Productions and Passion Pictures in association with Screen Pass Pictures, Impact Partners, Motto Pictures, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Storyville and HBO Documentary Films.
