Top Gear Magazine names new Publisher

Top Gear Magazine has promoted Simon Carrington, Associate Publisher to Publisher of the title, with immediate effect.

Carrington's three year role as Associate Publisher saw him oversee the introduction of a compact edition of the title and orchestrate a circulation increase to over 200,000 copies. The most recent ABC results saw Top Gear Magazine recorded its 14th consecutive circulation increase, selling more than twice the amount of its nearest competitor. Its meteoric rise has also seen its share in the core men's lifestyle market increase.

Top Gear's Managing Director Adam Waddell said: "Simon has effectively been caretaking on all publishing duties since I took on global management of the Top Gear brand so the magazine couldn't be in safer or more professional hands. Top Gear Magazine has been a runaway success story and Simon’s role will also involve overseeing the international editions of the title which are every bit as popular as their UK parent edition and now extend to 23 editions."

Simon worked previously at Mirror Group newspapers, joining Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ magazines as Marketing Manager in 2000. He became Associate Publisher for Top Gear's One Shot business in 2006 before taking the same role on Top Gear Magazine in 2007.

Simon Carrington said: "I am really delighted to have the opportunity to publish the UK’s biggest motoring magazine. The magazine has gone from strength to strength in recent years and I am looking forward to building on that success both in the UK and overseas."

The April issue of Top Gear Magazine is on sale now.
