Announced today, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ with network partners HBO and PBS, received three nominations for The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association recognized Little Dorrit and Into The Storm as contenders in the category for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and recognized the outstanding work of Kenneth Branagh in Wallander: One Step Behind in the category for Best Performance by an Actor In a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Wallander: One Step Behind was co-produced by Kenneth Branagh's production company with Yellow Bird and Left Bank Pictures, in which Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide has a 25% equity stake. All three nominated dramas were commissioned by Jane Tranter then Head of Fiction, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, now Executive Vice President, Programming & Production, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Productions in Los Angeles.
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s adaptation of Charles Dickens' much-loved tale, Little Dorrit has already won a total of seven 2009 Emmy Awards, including Best Mini-Series, more than any other program this year. Into the Storm, the biographical film about Winston Churchill and his days in office during World War II has also had an amazing year, racking up 14 Emmy Award nominations and two wins. Wallander: One Step Behind's Kenneth Branagh was also recently nominated for an Emmy Award for his work playing Swedish police detective Kurt Wallander.
