Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Channels announced today the launch of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Entertainment and pre-school children’s channel CBeebies in Argentina through a distribution agreement with cable television company Supercanal.
The rollout of these two global channels marks their debut in the country, reaching viewers in the provinces of Mendoza, Santiago, San Juan, La Rioja, Santa Fe, San Luis and Chubut.Β
Both channels launched yesterday, Tuesday November, 17.
Commenting on the new launch, Jessica Rodriguez, Senior VP and General Manager, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Channels Latin America and U.S. Hispanic, remarked: "This agreement underlines our commitment to continue our distribution growth throughout Latin America - bringing Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Entertainment and CBeebies incomparable and award-winning content to wider audiences.

Based in the western province of Mendoza, Supercanal is the second largest cable operator in the country, reaching 14 provinces.

The announcement comes just two months after the first anniversary of the launch of CBeebies and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Entertainment in Latin America, where both channels already reach viewers in 14 countries through a distribution agreement with Televisa Networks throughout the region (except Argentina and Brazil).
In addition, since November 2008, CBeebies has also been available to Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. through DISH Network’s DishLATINO packages - marking the first exposure of the CBeebies brand in the U.S.
