Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide secures flow of content throughout Europe

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide content will continue to entertain audiences in Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Finland and Norway after securing five major output deals.

The new output deals amount to more than 1,200 hours of programming to be streamed in territories from northern to southern Europe. New channels Spiegel Geschichte in Germany and Channel 7 in Kazakhstan, Rai in Italy, YLE in Finland and NRK in Norway have all recently concluded new output deals with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔW.

Tim Mutimer, SVP for EMEA Sales & Distribution at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide, said: "These five latest output deals highlight both the strength of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's catalogue and the strong relationships we have with broadcasters across Europe. While YLE, NRK and Rai have all been important clients for a number of years, Spiegel Geschichte and Channel 7 are both new channels and provide us with more windows in two of our key markets.

"Output deals are a key part of the our sales strategy as they allow us to showcase a number of titles – both new releases and our classic programming – as well as securing revenue in the long-term."

In Finland the public service broadcaster YLE has already snapped up some spectacular Natural History offerings such as South Pacific and Yellowstone along with the dramatic offering, Tess of the D’Urbervilles and insightful documentaries such as Bruce Parry's Amazon. This is the 11th year that YLE have renewed their mixed package output deal with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide.

Norwegian audiences will continue to enjoy Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔW content after the broadcaster NRK renewed their three year output deal. Norway's public broadcaster and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔW have worked together for a number of years and this is the second output deal they have concluded. In the past NRK have picked up titles such as Mistresses, Cranford, Wild China and Baby Borrowers.

Italian broadcaster Rai has renewed a three year factual output deal with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide for the eleventh time. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ programmes such as Atlantis and The Great Rift will appear across all of Rai's channels: Rai Uno; Rai2; Rai3 and Rai Educational. The original Living Planet was the first Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ NHU title to air on Rai Uno's longstanding prime time NH slot (Saturday 9pm) entitled Quark which is hosted by Piero Angela, the David Attenborough of Italy, who still hosts the slot today.

Germany will also be home to some of the latest titles from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's catalogue. New pay TV channel Spiegel Geschichte has signed its first output deal with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔW for content over one year. Spiegel Geschichte, which launched in July this year, will broadcast programmes such as the Ascent of Money, Space Age, Leonardo and the Mystery of the Black Death.

Eastern Europe will not be missing out either after Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔW concluded their first output deal in Kazakhstan and their first with new commercial broadcaster Channel 7. The two year deal includes back catalogue programming as well as Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes and Jamie Oliver's The Naked Chef.
