Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide, the commercial arm of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, today announced its first ever live entertainment production in Brazil. "Charlie & Lola: A Play" (Charlie e Lola: A PeΓ§a) is to be performed in SΓ£o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro from summer 2009 through to summer 2010.

"Charlie & Lola: A Play" (Charlie e Lola: A Peça) was first performed at Polka Theatre in London in the summer of 2008 and is due to return to the popular children’s theatre early next year. The transference to Brazil sees the most super brother and sister duo have their puppet show translated into Portuguese for performances from 4th July to 13th December at Teatro das Artes, Shopping Eldorado in São Paulo, moving on to Rio de Janeiro from 9th January 2010.

The play is replicated from the Polka production by Luciano Huck, TV host on Globo Television Network, with original director Roman Stefanski taking directorial responsibilty for the show.

Craig Stanley, General Manager of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Live Entertainment says, "Latin America is a hugely important territory for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide and we’re delighted we're able to take the Charlie and Lola live experience to Brazilian fans. This is the first time ever a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Live Entertainment show has been performed in Brazil which we hope could lead to the introduction of other Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ branded live shows for fans to enjoy in the future."

Charlie and Lola airs on Discovery Kids Latin America in Brazil and throughout the region, as well as on CBeebies in Mexico and in other Latin American countries where CBeebies is available. The series is dubbed in Portuguese and was produced by Tiger Aspect Productions, based on the award-winning picture books by Lauren Child.

Eight DVD titles over the first two seasons have been released by Logon with season 3 titles to launch from September 2009.

Charlie and Lola merchandise available in Brazil includes the Golden Bear Plush range from Long Jump, storybooks from Editora Atica and Logon, and a DVD range.

Other Brazilian licensees currently have further Charlie and Lola product in development including Emoporium for magazines, E de C M for home decoration & furniture, Santino for bags, Sulcap for accessories & apparel, Pro service for cycles and Tilibra for stationery.
