Is it a bus? Is it a tube? No, it's the Stig!

You might think it would be driving super cars at top speed, taking on the field in a 24 hour race in a diesel powered car or even doing a ski jump in a snow mobile. However, according to a poll by Top Gear magazine readers, the Stig's best ever TV moment was him er....tackling London public transport.

The situation from an episode in series 10 of Top Gear, sees a disorientated Stig travelling across London armed only with an Oyster card. Some 34 per cent of those surveyed voted it their favourite Stig moment.

The second most popular moment also came from the tenth series with the Top Gear presenters (plus the Stig) entering a 24 hour race in a diesel powered old BMW. 13.5 per cent of those polled enjoyed the thrill of seeing The Stig pulling off an amazing night time comeback after the efforts of Mssrs Clarkson, Hammond and May saw the team in last place.

Other classic Stig moments on the favourites list involved him crashing a Koenigsegg into a tyre wall and attempting to replicate Eddie the Eagle, but on wheels, for a Winter Olympics special. Some 504 Top Gear magazine readers responded to the survey, conducted from 27 March – 2 April. The poll was conducted to celebrate the launch of, 'The best of the Stig' DVD, free with the April edition of Top Gear magazine, on sale now, priced at £3.95.

The Top Gear television series returns in the Summer.
