Nearly 2,000 people took part in olive magazine's poll to find out Britain's most iconic chefs of all time.

The results not only included current chefs, but also famous cooks of the past such as Elizabeth David (10th) and Mrs Beeton (12th).

Rick Stein, whose huge impact on the Cornwall town of Padstow has led the town to be nicknamed 'Padstein', resides in fourth place. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, lover of local organic British produce, scooped 5th place in the poll.
