Launches at BETT - first website to enable teachers to refresh their
subject knowledge online

Worldwide and the Open University have joined forces to create the
UK's first comprehensive online professional development service
for Primary and Secondary school teachers - .
The
service is launching at the BETT Show on 7th January 2004 - the
world's largest educational technology show and will be available
to teachers from that date.
will be available to all Primary and Secondary schools and be of
benefit to Headteachers, Teaching Assistants and School Governors
as well as qualified teachers. It will provide a comprehensive and
easily accessible professional development service covering a wide
range of curriculum areas, offering teachers at all stages of their
career a clear and structured learning course to refresh, expand
and continually update their knowledge. Personalised learning, forums
for discussion and access to important educational figures and developments
are also key features of this online service.

markets, it is an exporter of TV programming and publishing through
its own and third party distribution networks, and also a co-publisher
of curriculum products in partnership with local educational media
companies.
