goes interactive with PC title from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Worldwide's award-winning software publishing division, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia,
is releasing a PC CD-ROM game based on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's popular soap for pre-schoolers,
Balamory.
The
PC title is due to be launched on February 27, 2004, and follows
the success of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's Balamory videos and DVDs, which sold
nearly 21,000 copies in the first week of release.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Multimedia has contracted BAFTA award-winning, Glasgow-based Absolute
Studios to develop the interactive game which, through the themes
of role play and adventure, is set to help children develop key
skills including spelling and letter recognition, matching numbers
and recognising familiar character and objects.
Ever
since the BAFTA nominated Balamory first aired in Autumn 2002, the
daily adventures of the residents of the fictional Scottish island
along with songs, poems, dances have charmed and delighted the nation's
children. The colourful town of Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull where
it is filmed, has experienced a large increase in visitors hoping
to catch sight of some of their favourite characters.

The
PC CD-ROM title includes a range of video clips from the series,
an art package, plus the following activities:
Edie's
Delivery Dilemna
Help Edie pick up the fruit that has dropped out of Penny Pocket
and Suzie delivery box. Drive around the village to retrieve all
the pieces before playtime.
Archie's
Word Wonder
Feed the correct letters into Archie's machine to complete words
and generate a story spoken by Archie or Miss Hoolie.
PC
Plum 'Investigates'
Investigate and learn about various things found in and around Balamory
by clicking on abstract display objects.
Penny
and Suzie's shopping spree
Collate and send out customer's orders by clicking on items from
the shop and add them to the basket.
Where's
Josie?
Help Miss Hoolie look for Josie whose playing a hiding game. Try
to find Josie amongst a throng of people in various Balamory locations.
Balamory
Stories with Miss Hoolie
Enjoy video clips taken from the Balamory television series where
Miss Hoolie tells a story.
Spencer's
Colour Challenge
Colour in pre-created line art drawings according to the number
colour palette. Complete on screen or print them out then colour
in.

Balamory
The world's first soap for pre-school children! Balamory is the
hugely popular programme set on a west coast island village that
