The
21st century is in constant and rapid change: our lives and times
are full of uncertainty - whether in world affairs, business, our
careers, finances, relationships, family, or personal circumstances.
We need to think more creatively, become self-aware, and respond
to change in a flexible and effective way, so we can maintain balance
in our lives as well as recognise and make the most of new opportunities.
This
series of concise and authoritative titles is geared to achieving
personal results. Each title is written by an expert with knowledge
of the latest personal development techniques and strategies for
success. They offer effective tools with the power to transform
our working and personal lives - generating self-confidence, self-motivation
and creative thought. Through case studies, analysis and exercises
the authors demonstrate how to formulate personal plans and practise
the use of the creative
methods to achieve professional and personal goals - and reach personal
fulfilment.
The
books in the series are accompanied by audio CDs, which enhance
the techniques outlined in the books and enable readers to practise
the methods described.
The
first titles in the series, published in March, are Be Creative,
The Confidence Plan, Find The Balance and Get Up and Do It!
Further
titles in the series, Starting Out and Effective Negotiation, will

Be
Creative - Essential
Steps to Revitalize Your Life and Work Guy
Claxton and Bill Lucas
Book
(Β£7.99) and audio CD (Β£8.99) published 25th March 2004
Do
you wonder how some people seem to have all the good ideas? And
what their secret is?
Do
you want to find an easier way to handle change and uncertainty?
Are
you looking for an approach that enables you to make the most of
your life?
Being
creative is a state of mind: we can either meet life's challenges
with a spirit of adventure, or we can keep trying to make it fit
old habits that don't work any more. In the current climate of constant
and rapid change, where our lives
and times are full of uncertainty, thinking creatively is an essential
skill. By thinking creatively we are best placed to respond to changing
circumstances in a flexible
way. Be Creative will help you tap into your potential, achieve
personal success and acquire essential skills for the workplace.
Filled with practical exercises and inspiring examples, Be Creative
demonstrates how to appreciate uncertainty and become inspired.
It highlights how to break away from old habits and to come up with
new ideas: inklings, hunches, imagination, humour and even dreams
can all play their part in liberating our creativity.
Guy
Claxton and Bill Lucas also highlight how we can develop our self-awareness
and they demonstrate that by developing our creative ability we
can also achieve harmony and balance in our personal lives.

The
Confidence Plan - Essential Steps to a New You by Sarah Litvinoff
Book
(Β£7.99) and audio CD (Β£8.99) published 25th March 2004
The
Power of Self-Perception
Confidence
is a sought-after but sometimes elusive quality. If self-doubt creeps
in, confidence gets eroded and we can start to question every aspect
of ourselves, losing touch with our instincts and our true self-worth.
Personal coach Sarah Litvinoff shows you in clear steps how to build
up to success: how to overcome setbacks, deal with fear, access
a positive frame of mind, raise your energy levels and develop powerful,
well-placed self-confidence.
- How
to create confidence: Renew your thinking, trust your instincts,
exorcize the past and if necessary act till it's real
- How
to use confidence: How to turn inaction into action, avoid self-deluding
traps and strengthen your feelings of self-worth
- The
confident life: Build yourself - and other people - up, and create
the life you really want
Sarah
Litvinoff writes widely on personal development issues. She is the
author of the Relate Guide to Better Relationships and the Relate
Guide to Sex in Love in Loving Relationships.
Find the Balance - Essential Steps to Fulfilment in Your Work
and Life by Deborah
Tom
Book
(Β£7.99) and audio CD (Β£8.99) published 25th March 2004
The
key to achieving well-being and happiness was once thought to stem
from building our careers and achieving wealth and comfort. However,
research shows that many suffer negatively from trying to balance
their work with their personal commitments. Long working hours often
results not in increased productivity but in decreased performance
and stress-related illness.
We
need to rethink our approach to our social, professional and personal
lives: to create a future that offers the opportunity to relax,
pursue personal interests and spend time with our families and friends,
whilst performing effectively and productively at work to ensure
that businesses thrive.
Find
the Balance combines analysis with exercises and case studies to
introduce simple but effective strategies into our lives so that
we can achieve fulfilment - and find a balance in our social, professional
and personal lives.
Deborah
Tom is a chartered occupational psychologist. She runs two training
and development companies, helping individuals, companies and organisations,
including the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, achieve excellence.
