Worldwide's can announce the addition of the popular live-action
pre-school series Balamory to its successful portfolio of licensed
children's properties at Brand Licensing London 2003. Balamory joins
landmark pre-school programmes Fimbles, Tweenies and Teletubbies
and popular animation Little Robots and classic favourite Andy Pandy.
Innovative
cross-media property FightBox joins youth and adult brands Top of
the Pops and Doctor Who, which celebrate important anniversaries
within the next year.
Balamory Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Worldwide will be releasing episodes from the popular CBeebies series
Balamory on DVD and VHS on 17 November 2003. Aimed at children aged
three to six years old, Mysteries with PC Plum will include three
episodes from the television series with a bonus episode available
on DVD.
Balamory
features a cast of children and adults and follows the adventures
of the small island community. Set in picturesque village where
pretty, coloured houses nestle around a harbour, the drama of each
episode focuses upon the young children of the local nursery and
their teacher, Miss Hoolie who are regularly joined by a host of
larger-than-life characters.

Worldwide will be developing further products lines for launch in
the UK, more details of which will be announced shortly.
Fimbles Since
its launch on CBeebies in Autumn 2002, Fimbles has enjoyed great
success in the UK and abroad. According to NPD data* Fisher Price's
Soft and Cuddly Little Pom bean toy has remained UK's best-selling
pre-school plush toy for seven consecutive months. Currently, the
series has been licensed to 20 countries including France, Korea
and Spain with more overseas sales to be announced soon. A further
70 episodes are currently in production and will begin to air on
CBeebies from January 2004.

Worldwide is publishing a range of videos, DVDs, books, audio and
multimedia and a high -profile marketing campaign in place to support
the brand.

Tweenies
Tweenies continues to be hugely popular among three to five year
olds with tickets sales for the award-winning Tweenies Live! arena
tour reaching an incredible one million to date. Tweenies made its
Stateside debut in Spring 2003 on US pre-school channel Noggin and
the series has been licensed to 49 territories globally.
A new
character, Eddie the Dream Genie joins the Tweenies in a straight-to-video
special, titled Night-time Magic, on DVD and VHS this Christmas,
which will be supported by above-the-line and PR campaigns (please
see attached press release). Another special featuring Eddie the
Dream Genie will be released for Christmas 2005.
Teletubbies
Teletubbies continues to delight young toddlers and babies all over
the world, and is enjoying a renaissance generated by the new range
of Tomy plush and plastic toys. In a global relationship spanning
Japan, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK, Teletubbies
and TOYS "R" US have joined forces across a number of
countries to bring a range of Teletubbies-centred activities to
children. Teletubbies merchandise is available through 1, 608 TOYS
"R" US stores worldwide.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Worldwide is currently developing a new set of brand materials to
add to the existing Teletubbies style guide which will be released
to licensees by the end of 2003.
Little
Robots Little
Robots, the pre-school animation series for older pre-schoolers,
premiered on CBeebies on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TWO in January, achieving excellent
ratings and share with the target market, and critical acclaim from
the media. Produced by award-winning animation studio Cosgrove Hall
Films for Create TV & Film Ltd., the series is voiced by some
of the UK's best-known comedy celebrities including Lenny Henry
and Su Pollard. The series has already been licensed to 18 international
broadcasters, including ABC in Australia, ZDF and KiKa in Germany
and RAI in Italy. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide launched its first range of Little
Robots books, video and multimedia product this Autumn alongside
a range of Lego toys. More products lines are planned for launch
throughout 2004. (Please see attached press release).
FightBox FightBox
is an innovative cross-media Internet, TV and computer gaming concept
harnessing the latest 3-D technology to create a completely new
entertainment genre. Filmed as a live sporting event, the TV show
brings computer game characters to life in full 3-D glory before
a studio audience. Virtual warriors, controlled by players in the
audience, pit their skills against each other and against the Sentients
- house warriors - in a purpose-built arena. The 20 x half hour
launched on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three on 13 October and will air weekly on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two
in November. Presented by DJ Trevor Nelson and model Lisa Snowdon.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide will be publishing FightBox multimedia games on PC
CD-ROM, PlayStation and GBA in February 2004, supported by a marketing
campaign (Please see attached press release).
Bill
& Ben and Andy Pandy Bill
& Ben and Andy Pandy will be kicking off their own 10 month
UK-wide theatre tour in February 2004. Produced by Children's Showtime,
the tour will see a double- header performance based on both CBeebies
programmes in which Andy Pandy, Looby Loo and Teddy will speak and
sing for the first time ever (Please see attached press release).
Doctor Who One
of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's best-loved cult sci-fi programs last seen on British
TV in 1989, Doctor Who celebrates its 40th Anniversary in November
2003. There continues to be a huge market for Doctor Who-related
products and merchandise; already during the anniversary year, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Video and DVD total sales passed the three million mark. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Audio
Books has sold more than 250,000 audios across 42 titles and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Books will have published over 100 original Doctor Who novels making
the series the largest ever book range built around a single principal
character.
To
commemorate Dr Who's 40th anniversary, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide has developed
an anniversary logo for use on all related merchandise along with
a style guide. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide is looking to work with licensees to
develop a range of Doctor Who merchandise to complement the comprehensive
range of published products in audio, book, video/DVD, magazine,
music and internet form launching throughout 2003 and beyond.
