Fawlty Towers Collectors Edition - Complete Series 1 & 2


Fans of Fawlty Towers are in for a very special Christmas this year, as Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide releases a specially packaged DVD Collectors Edition. All 12 episodes of the show, plus a hotel suite of fantastic extras, are now available together with a limited edition Corgi model of Basil's Red Austin 1300. The model comes complete with a hand-painted figure of Basil, armed with a branch and about to attack (as featured in the popular Gourmet Night episode), making it the perfect gift for fans, old and new, this Christmas.


The show has become a landmark in television history, repeatedly topping television polls, and remains a firm part of British comic culture. Though only 12 episodes were ever made, Fawlty Towers continues to draw in new fans, eager to enjoy its timeless comedy. The Fawlty Towers Collectors Edition is a three-disc DVD set and is released to buy on November 3rd 2003 from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide.


Written by and starring John Cleese (Basil) and Connie Booth (Polly), Fawlty Towers was directed by Bob Spiers and produced by John Howard Davies (Series 1) and Douglas Argent (Series 2). Prunella Scales starred as the "nest of vipers" Sibyl and Andrew Sachs as Manuel (who came from BarcelonaΒ… and learnt English from a book).


To accompany the 12 episodes (all completely digitised and restored), the following special features have been included:
Series 1 - Interview with John cleese; interview with Andrew Sachs; commentary by producer John Howard Davies; Torquay Tourist Guide - an amusing mini-documentary on the Gleneagles Hotel which was the inspiration behind Fawlty Towers; artist profiles; who's who guide to the characters; illustrated book with photographs


Series 2 - Interview with John Cleese; interview with Prunella Scales; commentary by Director Bob Spiers; out-takes; Basil Fawlty introducing a trailer for Not The Nine O'Clock News in 1979; artist profiles; who's who guide to the characters; illustrated book with photographs
