Teletubbies inspire children to Get Caught Reading

To promote the pleasures of reading, the Teletubbies joined a host of famous names in the third year of the Get Caught Reading Campaign in aid of World of Book Day, which was held on March 6th. It is the biggest celebration of books and reading in the UK and special posters show the foursome looking through a Teletubbies book to show young children that books can be fun.

To get children even more excited about reading, 19th May sees the launch of four new vibrant books from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide based on the award-winning Teletubbies series. The pages are bursting with vivid colours and shapes designed to stimulate young children.

The Teletubbies enjoy reading books and through their love of reading, children are encouraged to develop a life-long affection for words, numbers and pictures.

Big and Small board book Β£4.99 (ISBN 0563 532 920)
Taking its cue from the visual simplicity of the new Teletubbies Everywhere series on CBeebies, Big and Small forms part of this new publishing range designed to explore in a fun way first concepts - number, colour, shape, size, rhythm and naming - in an entertaining and accessible way.

Unique to this range, the pages start small and increase in size throughout the book, making each page a new surprise."

Colours board book Β£4.99 (ISBN 0563 532 912)
Designed to develop young children's cognitive skills, this Colours board book introduces purple, green, yellow, red, blue and pink - the colours of the Teletubbies themselves and their friend Noo-noo and children will have fun exploring these colours as they turn each page.

The book helps children to familiarise themselves with the name of each colour as well as the shade, allowing children to match the Teletubbies to their own colours.

Very Busy Day Activity book Β£2.99 (ISBN 0563 532 955)
This activity book is all about the Teletubbies' busy activities in Teletubbyland. This book is packed with 16 pages of activities. Children will find pictures to colour and draw, objects to match, dots to trace, spot the difference activities, mazes, and things to find, making it a busy day for children and the Teletubbies.

Clever Noo-noo! board book Β£4.99 (ISBN 0563 532 904)
Clever Noo-noo! is a funny story book. In it the Teletubbies are playing indoors and making a lot of mess. Of course, the Noo-noo comes to their rescue, and tidies up after them.

The novelty of this book is that it also features a felt finger puppet of the Noo-noo die-cut through it, which allows interactivity between the reader and the book. The puppet is attached to the back cover and 'pops' through a circular hole in every page of the book helping the child to pretend that they are the Noo-noo helping to clear up after the Teletubbies.
