Watch And Learn With The Tweenies
Pre-school
favourites Bella, Milo, Fizz and Jake are about to share their magical
world of song, stories and play with parents this autumn.
Called
"Parents At Play", the Tweenies will link with Tumble
Tots - the UK's leading provider of physical play sessions for pre-schoolers
- for a series of workshops.
The
aim of the workshops is to encourage parents to understand how pre-school
children learn through active participation and play. The play workshops
will also offer lots of practical and fun ideas on play.
Launched
in 1999, Tweenies is the innovative TV show set in a playgroup and.
It is designed to encourage children aged 3-5 years old to develop
a range of social skills as well as language, literacy and numeracy.
Hosted
by child psychologist, Dr Richard Woolfson, the play workshops will
mirror the TV programme by being split into a number of sections.
The first section will focus on the theory of play and will be followed
by parents and kids undertaking a number of practical activities
including a 'make and do ' session plus music, singing and movement.
Dianne
Cloonan, CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide said, "The Tweenies have enriched the
lives of pre-schoolers with their own unique take on play and we
know that parents always welcome new information and ideas on play.
The workshops will be entertaining and lots of fun."
