Worldwide ushers in Doctor Who's 40th anniversary year with exciting
line-up for autumn 2002
This autumn will be see the launch of the first phase of exciting
products from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide - on video, DVD, book and audio - as
part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary year of Doctor
Who. Highlights for this autumn include The Dalek Survival Guide,
a manual on how to survive a Dalek attack; the First Doctor VHS
box set for Christmas, and the appearance on DVD of The Aztecs,
starring William Hartnell, and Resurrection of the Daleks, in which
Peter Davison meets the Daleks.

The Invisible Enemy (September 2): This episode on VHS marks the
debut of fans' favourite, K9, and stars Tom Baker as the fourth
Doctor, with Louise Jameson as the Doctor's assistant Leela. The
TARDIS is infiltrated by the Swarm - a space-borne intelligence
that wishes to colonise the Universe - and the Doctor is infected
by its nucleus.
- The
Aztecs (October 7): This "superb historical adventure"
with its "fascinating and compelling depiction of the Aztec
civilization"(David Howe, Doctor Who The Television Companion)
stars William Hartnell as the First Doctor. DVD extras include
four digitally restored episodes, commentary by producer Verity
Lambert and TARDIS-cam.no3. This is the first DVD to feature William
Hartnell.
- The
First Doctor Box Set (November 4): this collectable VHS box set
of three single videos in a slipcase celebrates William Hartnell's
reign as the first Doctor, featuring The Time Meddler, The Sensorites
and The Gunfighters, the last three complete William Hartnell
stories to be released on video.
- Doctor
Who: Resurrection of the Daleks (November 18) : Peter Davison
stars as the fifth Doctor in his first and only clash with the
Doctor's oldest enemy - The Daleks. Packaged in a special edition
Dalek-style, black rubber case, this stylish DVD includes a myriad
of extras and is a companion to the Dalek Survival Guide book
(see below).

The Dalek Survival Guide (October 10): This elegantly stylish
black manual, complete with embossed Dalek on the front cover,
reveals the full terror of the Daleks, complete with detailed
information on how to withstand the inevitable - a full-scale
Dalek assault.
- Paperback
books: these include Heritage (October 7th) featuring the Seventh
Doctor, with Ace, and The Infinity Race, an eighth Doctor novel
with Fitz and Anji.
Audio
- Death
Comes To Time (October 28): more than 25,000 users tuned in when
this drama was first aired on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ online in 2001. From October
7th it will also be available in CD. Sylvester McCoy, Stephen
Fry and John Sessions star in this action-packed adventure specially
created for audio.
- The
Savages (November 4): William Hartnell stars as the first Doctor
in this exclusive recording of a 'lost' television adventure.
The Savages marks the final appearance in the programme of Peter
Purves, who also provides the linking narration for this release.
