Sachs reads two new Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Cover to Cover titles
Published
on 2 September by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Cover to Cover, Andrew Sachs reads two enthralling
stories that are sure to captivate even the youngest listener. Complete
and unabridged, MR MAJEIKA ON THE INTERNET and THE TALE OF RICKERTY
HALL are each published on single cassette, priced Β£3.99.
Written
by Humphrey Carpenter, MR MAJEIKA ON THE INTERNET follows the exploits
of Class Three at St Barty's School, who have recently been given
an amazing new computer by a local business. Class Three soon discover,
however, that there's something a bit strange about their new machine.
First, it is cheeky to Mr Majeka, then the whole class is magically
trapped on the Internet. How on earth are they going to get out
and how many bizarre characters will they meet along the way?
Nominated
for the Children's Book Award 2001, THE TALE OF RICKERTY HALL is
written by Penny Dolan. The story follows the adventures of orphan
Jonas Jones and his little dog Scraps. One night, Jonas knocks on
the door of Rickerty Hall, situated high on a hill, half hidden
by trees. As the door creaks open, Jonas and Scraps soon discover
the secrets that lie inside.
Reader
Andrew Sachs brings both stories expertly to life. He is probably
best known for his portrayal of Manuel in Fawlty Towers, however,
his television and film credits also include The History of Mr Polly,
Dead Ernest and Consuming Passions. His extensive theatre career
includes A Voyage Round My Father, Jumpers and Habeas Corpus. Andrew
also specialises in voice work, including commentaries for Horizon
and Survival and is the reader of many audio books. He has also
won the Spoken Word Publisher's Association Performer of the Year
Award.
