Worldwide appoints new vice-president, joint ventures in Asia
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Worldwide has appointed Christine Leo-McKerrow as Vice President
Joint Ventures, working on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ/Discovery jointly owned channels
in Asia.
Christine
will be based at Discovery's offices in Singapore and will play
a major strategic role in the planning and promoting of Animal Planet,
as well as increasing its distribution in both new and existing
markets. She will also work with Discovery on the launch of new
channels for the Asian market.
"I'm
very excited about joining Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide and being at the heart
of the company's strategy to develop new channels in Asia. I hope
my experience in Asia will bring an added dimension to the role,"
said Christine.

Edridge, Director Joint Ventures, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide, added; "We

familiarity in the Asian market will be a tremendous asset in maximizing
Animal Planet's potential and helping to move the Channel towards
profitability."
Christine
was most recently Vice President of Channel Operations and Brand
Management for Nickelodeon in Asia, responsible for the launch and
growth of Nickelodeon's four Asia channels.
Prior
to this she spent five years at HBO Asia, working both on HBO and
Cinemax. Her experience also includes a period as marketing consultant
for Sony Pictures Television in Japan and for Walt Disney Attractions.
She also worked on the launch of Animal Planet Asia in 1998.
Animal
Planet, a global venture with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Discovery Communications Inc.,
is currently available in 48 million homes across India, China,
Japan, Taiwan, Australasia and other countries in Asia.
