Gill Hudson appointed Editor of Radio Times

The new Editor of Radio Times is Gill Hudson, the current Editorial Director of New Product Development at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Magazines.

Since joining the company nearly three years ago, Gill's successes have included the launch of the women's lifestyle title eve magazine, which she edited for 18 months until earlier this year.

Gill was formerly Editorial Director at Dennis Publishing, where she helped to revolutionise the lads' market as launch Editor of Maxim and was instrumental in setting up its 1.5m-selling US version.

Her time at Dennis also saw her conceive and oversee the creation of Stuff in 1996 and Ministry with the Ministry of Sound.

As Editor of New Woman, Gill oversaw seven successive year-on-year circulation increases. Prior to this she was also Deputy Editor and then Editor of Company magazine, which she transformed when it was at the brink of closure.

Her work has regularly been recognised at the PPA Awards and in 1997 she was named Editor of the Year for MenΒ’s Magazines at the BSME Awards.

She takes over at Radio Times on Monday 17 June and says: "This is has got to be one of the greatest magazine jobs in the business. Radio Times has the best listings in the world and we know more about film and TV than anyone. My job now is make sure we showcase those strengths for all they're worth. Expect a Radio Times that will be as authoritative and comprehensive as ever but with a few new things that will take many in the industry by surprise."

Ashley Munday, Publishing Director, Radio Times, adds: "Gill is one of the industry's best-known and most respected talents, and has already had an exceptional editorial career. She has a passion for magazines that is hard to resist and will now help to take Radio Times to even greater success as we lead the way in the multi-channel listings market."
