Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World now available in Amsterdam

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's 24-hour international news and information channel, is delighted to announce the channel's return to the standard cable package in Amsterdam and surrounding cities.

As of Monday 10th June, cable operator UPC (Netherlands) has followed the recommendations of the General Programme Council (APR) and reinstated Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World, 24 hours per day, in the following cities: Amsterdam (including Diemen, Oostzaan, Abcoude and Nigtevecht), Weesp and Ouder Amstel and will be transmitted via channel 56+, frequency 75200.

Gerry Ritchie, Head of Network Development for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World, explains: "We are of course delighted with our come back in Amsterdam, a very important European city and a vital part of our global distribution strategy.

"Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World can now be viewed in over 220 million households worldwide in more than 200 countries. The channel has always enjoyed a reputation for bringing award winning programmes and the highest quality journalism to viewers across the world.

"Now we can also show viewers in Amsterdam that our reporters are covering the stories that matter worldwide 24 hours a day."

Philip Bisschop, distribution representative for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World in the Netherlands, adds: "Over the past few years the citizens of Amsterdam and surrounding cities have missed out not only on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World's news, but also on the launch of a number of new programmes on the channel.

"These are related to growing industries such as IT, communication, business and finances, and have contributed to the major success of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World worldwide. In addition, the continuing focus on news makes our channel relevant for viewers at any hour of the day anywhere in the world."

Carolyn Gibson, Regional Sales Director Europe Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World, comments: "We have been working hard with the support of Dutch advertisers, such as KLM, and the Amsterdam offices of major agencies such as The Media Edge and Mindshare.

"This is exciting news in terms of raising the profile of the channel in the mind of potential advertisers and clients in Amsterdam."
