Worldwide appoints Director, News and Current Affairs
Mark
Reynolds has been appointed by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide to the new position
of Director, News & Current Affairs, with effect from 1.5.02.
Reporting
to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's Director of International Television, Mike Phillips,
Mark will maximise business opportunities by developing Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's
relationship with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Current Affairs Group. He will also work
closely with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News; the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Commercial Agency; and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's
regional sales teams to identify and pursue new opportunities, and
to raise the profile of News and Current Affairs output within the
company.
Mark
joins from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Americas, where he was Vice-President,
Co-productions and Sales for factual programming. Prior to joining
the New York-based Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sales Company in 1998, he held a number of
marketing and business development roles within Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide. Working
closely with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Natural History Unit, he was responsible for
raising co-production finance for a number of major landmark series
including: The Blue Planet, Life in the Freezer, The Life of Birds
and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wildlife Specials. Mark also played a key role in setting
up Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's ground-breaking joint venture with Discovery
Communications Incorporated.
Mike
Phillips said "Mark's track record during his time in the Commercial
Agency and his more recent experience in the US market, working
across the F&L output, make him the ideal candidate to develop
our News & Current Affairs business."
