Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide appoints Director, News and Current Affairs

Mark Reynolds has been appointed by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide to the new position of Director, News & Current Affairs, with effect from 1.5.02.

Reporting to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's Director of International Television, Mike Phillips, Mark will maximise business opportunities by developing Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's relationship with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Current Affairs Group. He will also work closely with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News; the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Commercial Agency; and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's regional sales teams to identify and pursue new opportunities, and to raise the profile of News and Current Affairs output within the company.

Mark joins from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide Americas, where he was Vice-President, Co-productions and Sales for factual programming. Prior to joining the New York-based Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sales Company in 1998, he held a number of marketing and business development roles within Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide. Working closely with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Natural History Unit, he was responsible for raising co-production finance for a number of major landmark series including: The Blue Planet, Life in the Freezer, The Life of Birds and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wildlife Specials. Mark also played a key role in setting up Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's ground-breaking joint venture with Discovery Communications Incorporated.

Mike Phillips said "Mark's track record during his time in the Commercial Agency and his more recent experience in the US market, working across the F&L output, make him the ideal candidate to develop our News & Current Affairs business."
