Gear Magazine launches Indonesian version
Motoring
enthusiasts in Indonesia are enjoying their own version of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Top
Gear Magazine, combining items from the UK edition with local features.
The
first edition of Top Gear Indonesia has just gone on sale at 700
outlets in big cities such as Jakarta, Medan, Bali, Surabaya and
Bandung, selling 70% of its 25,000 print-run within a week. The
locally-produced title has gone down well with readers, who have
emailed comments such as: "This is the magazine we all need."
Says
Adam Waddell, Top Gear Magazine's Publisher at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Magazines in
London: "In addition to excellent international sales of the
UK magazine, Top Gear has translated extremely well into foreign
language editions. We've had an Arabic edition for over four years,
a major syndication deal with an Israeli publisher and now an Indonesian
version. It seems great design and award winning journalism appeal
in any language and this success truly demonstrates the global appeal
of the Top Gear brand."
Top
Gear is very familiar to television viewers in Indonesia, who can
see the programme on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's 24-hour international
news and information channel: widely available on cable, digital
and satellite throughout Indonesia, as well as in most good hotel
rooms in the region.
Note
to Editors:

for adults, teenagers and children. The UK version of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Top Gear
Magazine is the UK's best-selling general motoring monthly with
a circulation of 150, 101 (ABC: Jul to Dec 2001).
