Mammals to conquer Earth
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Worldwide, the main commercial arm of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, has concluded major
pre-sales for the landmark natural history series The Life of Mammals,
prior to its UK debut.
MNET
in South Africa, ABC in Australia and YLE in Finland have acquired
the series and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide is currently negotiating a raft of
other licensing deals with broadcasters around the globe.
Four
years in the making with wildlife veteran and natural history icon
Sir David Attenborough, The Life of Mammals presents a fascinating
and complete insight into the group of animals to which we belong.
The series charts the stories of 4,000 species that outlived the
dinosaurs and conquered the furthest places on earth. The Life of
Mammals is a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ/Discovery Channel co-production.
Previous
natural history programming featuring Sir David Attenborough, including
The Life of Birds, Life in the Freezer and The Private Life of Plants
have been broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide.
"The
Life of Mammals is the definitive series about this most charismatic
group of animals," said Keith Scholey, Head of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Natural
History Unit. "The series is set to be one of the Natural History
Unit's finest and most ambitious set of programmes to date and has
all the hallmarks of being a huge international success."
Marena
Manzoufas, Head of Programming, ABC Australia, commenting on her
acquisition said, "Dynamic natural history programming is always
a major attraction for Australian viewers. The Life of Mammals has
the potential to capture the imagination of our viewers and certainly
supass audience ratings that previous Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ natural history programming
achieved for the ABC."
