Multimedia launches spanking new website
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ
Multimedia, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Worldwide's commercial console games and CD-ROM
publishing business, has launched a new website. Simply pointing
a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape, at: http://www.bbcmultimedia.com
delivers all the latest news, views and information about the company's
products.
The
site is organised on a 'Zone' basis, to enable users to find the
information they want simply and easily. The Zones are: Kids (both
Big and Small), Youth, Family, and Gaming. Each Zone offers information
and a list of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) for the products.
The site will also recommend other titles that users may enjoy,
related to each product they're interested in.
Additionally,
extensive product support information is included on the site for
any users who are running into difficulties - and a searchable database
of all titles, with information, cover shots and screen shots is
available.
Shamsul
Rosunally, Head of Creative Design at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia, commented:
"The new site is excellent, both as a resource for customers
and partners, and as a source of up to date information. We consciously
aimed for a site that offered the ability to purchase titles, add
value to the experience of those titles customers already own, and
provide a facility to download updates to existing products.
"We
also wanted to create a sense of community by offering cheats, tips,
and information. What's more, the site is a great way of finding
out all the latest news, which will be uploaded to the site as well
as product information," he continued.
The
site has been built by New Media Agency, Lost Boys, in close collaboration
with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia. Steve Griffiths, Marketing & Sales Director,
commented: "Our goal was twofold - to support users who purchase
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia products and therefore reduce customer support costs,
and secondly to provide marketing to support customer acquisition
and cross-sell products."
Griffiths
continued: "A key challenge in the development of the site
has been to reflect the very diverse nature of the audiences who
purchase Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ products, whilst also integrating with specific marketing
activities around new product launches. We feel that the recent
launch of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Robot Wars section has demonstrated that this
has been achieved.
"The
site is supported by a content management system to ensure that
content can be updated quickly by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia and that, in time,
a personalised experience can be delivered to users - we will next
be working on creating personalised journeys for customers and thus
maximising revenue per user," he concluded.
Naturally,
users can register with the site for information updates about new
products or additional services Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia offers. A comprehensive
Links section allows simple navigation to official websites for
everything from Robot Wars and Bob the Builder to Walking With Beasts.
There's a useful feedback section too, so users can email the site
to tell Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Multimedia what they like and what they would like to
see more of in the coming months.
Cheats,
hints and tips are also set to appear on the site, so if users are
having difficulty completing a game, a helping hand is ready to
assist progressing with a title.
However,
this is not just an information website. Users can also buy any
of the products they like the look of through the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Shop (http://www.bbcshop.com).
