Tokyo, Thursday 1 September 2011. ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World Japan Ltd has announced that Colin Lawrence has been appointed, Representative Director of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World Japan Ltd. Colin will take-on this role alongside his current position as Commercial Director for ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News Ltd, the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔs global news network.

Alongside his global role, Colin will be working with the Tokyo based team in building and supporting partnerships with major distribution partners, and working to deliver new HD and video-on-demand services. In addition, Akiko Miyazaki has been appointed COO Representative Director, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World Japan Ltd.

Commenting on his appointment, Colin says: β€œI’ve worked closely with the team in Japan for the past 18-months and I’m looking forward to building on our already successful business in the market. There are many opportunities for growth and technology will play a key role in delivering an outstanding channel proposition for both our distribution partners and Japanese audiences.”

In recent years, Colin has also significantly contributed to the channel's exceptional advertising revenue growth and in his role as Commercial Director he’s led the business into double-digit profit for the first time in the channels history.
